Ken will be exhibiting new paintings at Studio89 for the Ground Work show!

"Studio 89 is pleased to present GROUND WORK,a group show curated by Chloe Mosbacher that brings together the two-dimensional works of Spencer Beals, Ken Fury, Holly Cerna, Caroline Guzewicz, and herself with a collection of three-dimensional works by Xavier Hardison. GROUND WORK takes place from 23 June through 14 August, with the reception taking place on 25 June from 5-8 pm. The artists included in this exhibition explore the many ways in which nature branches off in various directions, as a force capable of evoking spiritual associations, emotionality, and transformative activity. The pieces included in this exhibition emphasize a human relationship with the environment which radically opposes the idea that we are separate from the natural world. Instead, we are entangled and interconnected with this wildness both psychically and somatically." https://www.studio89hv.com

Protect the Mountain Lions, 2022

Ken Fury

18 x 24 in

Signed digital painting printed with archival ink on Hahnemühle Rag, professionally framed.

This piece is about the rising temperatures in Colorado, increasing wildfires and droughts that damage the habitats and ecosystem. I want to bring attention to all the animals, but I chose to pick the mountain lion because it is rare to see one, and with climate change, one day, we may never see them again. It is also one of my favorite animals.

The painting depicts mountains on fire and the evaporation of the lake with the mountain lion connected to them both.
