B-Boy / Artist Kenneth “ Ken Fury” Marez Jr. was raised in Pueblo, Colorado, where he grew up with a strong desire of self expression and a passion for dance. At the age of eleven, he taught himself to Break Dance by observing and studying his idols. Soon after, he decided to put his skills to the test by entering and winning 1st place in many Break Dance competitions nationwide. He gained the attention and trained with the Lordz of Finesse crew in Denver, building his unique technique. His Break Dance style became so dynamic, at the age of sixteen he was asked to perform with artists such as Rahzel and Kurtis Blow in 2003. Shortly after graduating high school, he was offered a plane ticket to New York City to join the dance company Full Circle Productions, performing the show, “Hip Hop to Da Head”, at New York University, Kennedy Center, and The Smithsonian Theatre in Washington D.C. In 2007 he performed at The Central Park Summer Stage in New York City. He was featured in a K- SWISS print advertisement and an “I Love New York” commercial. Living in New York and realizing that the bustling streets can be a stage, he danced and learned from the street performing crew known as, “The New York City Float Committee”, whom are known as some of the most legendary pioneers in Break Dance history. Ken Fury’s dream is not only to become the best dancer he could be, but to inspire others how to express their souls through dance and has taught many classes to youths at high schools, dance studios, and community centers. He continues to strive to make a positive impact in society and has been flown out by event organizers world-wide, to share his outstanding talent and encourage one’s ability to utilize the spirit of dance to be free! |
